Keyword Research Part II

Please read this before building a website! Keywords will make or break you! As a business owner this will really open your mind. Building a web site is easy. Getting a website in front of a lot of people is a major challenge. With thousands of people marketing the same thing you are how will you get traffic to your site?

1. TV, Radio, Magazines?
Or
2. Are you thinking about putting a website up and driving 100% free wholesome organic traffic by being in the top ten on Google, MSN and Yahoo?


If you choose the second option then you need to do some major research first:

1. Are people even looking for what you have to offer on the internet? Seeing a lot of people selling what you have does not mean people are looking for it.
2. If people are looking for what you have to offer what is the actual numbers?
3. If you do now the numbers, do you know the actual real number of competitors you have?

This is where most people make their mistake.

Let’s pretend we are selling running shoes:

The keyword "running shoes" has 392,000 websites marketing that same exact keyword and 39,000 looking for it. That means you have 392,000 competitors that are doing what you are hopefully only thinking about doing. Would it make sense to try and compete organically with that many people that are years ahead of you with so few less searching for running shoes? Yes, but not yet! Even if you are the world’s greatest search engine optimization expert web designer it will take a lot of effort to get there with that kind of competition.

Is it possible to get the number one spot? Most likely, if you know what you are doing, but it would take years of hard work, which equals lots of money (time is money right) unless you use my method. It will still take a lot of time, but there is a fast way and a slower way.

You will be able to build a page or a site based on that information and get to the top FAST!
